Privacy Policy
TL;DR — Randomista collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no network calls. Your studies never leave your device unless you export them yourself.
What we collect
Nothing. Randomista does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or usage data. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no server — the app makes no network calls of any kind. This matches the app's App Store privacy label ("Data Not Collected") and its embedded privacy manifest.
Where your data lives
Everything you create in Randomista — projects, study designs, power analyses, randomisation sequences, allocations, participant labels, preregistration drafts, and tasks — is stored locally on your device, in the app's private container. It is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and hardware encryption) and is deleted when you delete the app.
Data only leaves the app when you export it — a CSV of allocations, a Markdown or PDF preregistration — using the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely under your control.
Participant information
If you enter participant labels while allocating, they stay on your device like everything else. As the researcher, you remain responsible for following your institution's ethics and data-protection requirements for anything you type into the app — we recommend using pseudonymous labels (e.g. P-014) rather than names.
Notifications
If you enable a task reminder, the app asks for the standard iOS notification permission. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device; no notification service of ours is involved, because we don't have one. You can revoke the permission at any time in Settings.
Purchases
Randomista is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details, and the app contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
Third parties
There are none. No analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no crash reporters, no cloud services, no AI services. The app's only "third parties" are the open, public-domain statistical procedures it implements — and those are algorithms, not companies.
Children
Randomista is a professional research tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone — children included, by construction, since it collects nothing from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Randomista ever changes any of the above — for example, optional iCloud sync — this policy will be updated first, the change will be opt-in, and the effective date above will change. The current promise is simple: the app has no way to phone home.
